DEL POTRO PUMMELS FEDERER TO MOVE TO SEMI'S

JAUN MARTIN DEL POTRO STOPS THE 19 GRAND SLAM WINNER ROGER FEDERE AGAIN AT THE DOOR FOR A VICTORY AT THE U.S. OPEN. HE RIFLED SERVES CONSISTENT GROUND STROKES.  WITH THE CROWD CHEERING FOR BOTH PLAYERS, LIKE THE DOMINIC THIEM MATCH.   DEL POTRO SEEMED TO HAVE THE EDGE THEIR AS WELL AS HE PLAYED TO THE CROWD.  THE NIGHT BEFORE HE WAS UNDER THE WEATHER SAVING 2 MATCH POINTS AND WON IN 5 SETS! TONIGHT HE HAD THE ANSWERS WITH THE MOST POWERFUL FOREHAND IN THE GAME ALMOST DECAPITATING ROGER AT THE NET FOR A SPLENDID WINNER. ROGER BLEW 4 SET POINTS 2 TIE THE MATCH AT 2 SETS ALL.  DEL POTRO MUCH HEALTHIER TODAY HAD THE STRENGTH AND POWER TO FORCE ROGER TO TAP OUT IN THE FORTH SET 7-5, 3-6, 7-6(8), 6-4. JUAN MARTIN WILL PLAY THE SPANIARD RAFAEL NADAL WHERE HE WON THE 2009 US OPEN SEMI'S 6-2, 6-2, 6-2.  I KNOW WE ALL WANTED TO SEE ROGER AND RAFAEL BUT THIS WILL BE A GREAT MATCH FROM A GUY WHO HAD 4 WRIST SURGERIES AND IS HUNGRY FOR ANOTHER US OPEN TITLE.  MAYBE NEXT YEAR.  TONIGHT POWER PREVAILED!

THE AMERICAN WOMEN DOMINATE THE FINAL FOUR AT THE U.S. OPEN

TONIGHT MADISON KEYS PLAYED THE MATCH OF HER LIFE.  SHE STRUCK 23 WINNERS WITH 8 ACES TAKING DOWN KAIA KANEPI 6-3, 6-3.  SHE DID THIS WITH MITE AND DETERMINATION.  MADISON DID'NT FLINCH AS IF THIS WAS SCRIPTED. NO ANSWERS FROM KANEPI EXPEPT THAT KEYS JUST PLAYED BETTER THAN HER. MADISON WAS THE LAST OF THE AMERICAN WOMEN TO QUALIFY FOR THE SEMI-FINALS ALONG WITH COCO VANDEWEGHE WHO GAVE KAROLINA PLISKOVA A QUICK BEATDOWN 7-6(4), 6-3 AFTER CLAIMING NUMBER ONE IN THE WORLD JUST A WEEK AGO IS GONE.

UNFEDERERLIKE ROGER PULLS A BACK TO BACK HOUDINI 5 SET WINS!

THIS IS KILLING ME! SO CLOSE TO LOSING AGAIN BUT I DID HAVE FAITH THAT ROGER WOULD PULL THROUGH AND HE DID!  A QUICK START TO 6-1 IN THE FIRST SET AGAINST ANOTHER THIRTY SOMETHING PLAYER MIKHAIL YOUHZNY.  THE 35 YEAR OLD RUSSIAN STARTED OFF SLOW BUT WAS PIN POINT, ALL BUSINESS NO PLAYING AROUND.  HE RAN ROGER WHO LOOKED SLUGGISH.  HE SLICED LIKE BACK IN THE DAY.  HIS CONFIDENCE WAS LOW OR TOOK A BATHROOM BREAK OR SOMETHING! HAPPY TO GET THROUGH WINNING 6-1, 6-7(3), 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.

CORIC, SHAPOVALOV, POUILLE, THRILLS THE CROWDS WHILE KYRGIOS, KARLOVIC CRASH AT THE U.S. OPEN

THE TH SEED BORNA CORIC OF CROATIA TOOK DOWN THE 4TH SEED ALEXANDER ZVEREV A TOP 10 PLAYER SAW HIS RUN END IN THE SECOND ROUND THOUGH HE WENT TO THE FINALS IN CINCINNATI IN 4 SETS 3-6, 7-5, 7-6(1), 7-6(4). CORIC HAS SHOWN GREAT PROMISE BUT FADED AWAY OVER THE LAST YEAR.  A DANGEROUS PLAYER DID HIS HOMEWORK LAST NIGHT. HIS RECORD IS STILL UNBEATEN AS HE WON TWICE AGAINST THE RUSSIAN BORN FROM GERMAN PLAYER.  BORNA DOES NOT PLAY LIKE A 61 RANKED PLAYER.  THIS MATCH HE WILL REGAIN HIS CONFIDENCE AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

OSTAPENKO, VENUS, PLISKOVA, SVITOLINA READY FOR MORE ACTION!

THE 12TH SEED YOUNG FENOME FROM LATVIA  JELENA OSTAPENKO IS READY TO CONQUER AS SHE DEFEATED SORANA CIRSTEA OF ROMANIA 6-4, 6-4.  CIRSTEA HAD 7 BREAK POINTS BUT COULD NOT CONVERT.  SHE GOT THE BREAK BACK BUT JELENA WENT BACK TO BUSINESS AND CLOSED THE DOOR ON THE MATCH.

VENUS WILLIAMS THE MOST EXPERIENCE AT 37 YEARS OF AGE WAS DETERMINED TO GET TO THE THIRD ROUND LOOKED SHARP AGAINST DOMINIKA CIBULKOVA 7-5, 6-4.  THE FIRST SET VENUS LEADING 5-2 COULD NOT PUT THE FRENCH LADY OCEANE DODIN AWAY AS OCEANE CLAWED BACK PRESSURING VENUS TO WIN THE FIRST SET.

RETURN OF SERVE A MUST TO HAVE!

THE SERVE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT SHOT IN THE GAME OF TENNIS BECAUSE YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR DESTINY.  THE RETURN OF SERVE IS THE SECOND MOST IMPORTANT SHOT IN YOUR ARSENAL  THIS SHOT CAN DIMINISH YOUR OPPONENT IMMEDIATELY IF YOU BREAK THEM. THEY ARE THE PITCHER YOU ARE THE SLUGGER SO YOU HAVE TO OUT GUESS YOUR OPPONENT BY

1.  STAY ON YOUR TOES NOT ON YOUR HEELS
2.  MOVE FORWARD
3.  READ YOUR OPPONENTS TOSS
4.  GET INTO A RHYTHM OF THEIR SERVICE MOTION
5.  SOMETIMES YOU MUST BLOCK OR SLICE TO KEEP BALL IN PLAY

ADD EXPLOSION TO ALL YOUR STROKES!

OFFENSE IS THE NEW WAY TO PLAY.  RUN AND GUN TAKE YOUR CHANCES LIKE THE PROS.  WHY?  THE LONGER YOU EXTEND THE POINT NERVES KICK IN AND YOUR STROKES START TO DETERIORATE.  YOUR STAMINA BECOMES DEPLETED. WE NEVER WANT TO BE ON THE OTHER SIDE  BEING RUN AROUND LIKE A RAG DOLL,  SO WHY NOT PUMP UP THE  VOLUME A LITTLE ON ALL YOUR STROKES. HOW?

* ANY BALL INSIDE THE BASELINE WITHIN 4 TO FIVE FT STEP INTO YOUR SHOT.
* SHORT ANGLES LURE TO OPPONENT OFF THE COURT TO SET UP WINNING SHOT

BATTLE OF THE GREATEST OF ALL TIMES AT THE U.S. OPEN

ROGER FEDERER AND RAFAEL NADAL HAVE NEVER PLAYED AT THE U.S. OPEN BUT THIS COULD CHANGE IF THEY EACH CAN GET PASS THE 5 PIRANAS THEY MEET BEFORE THE SEMI'S.  NADAL CURRENTLY NO.1 COULD LOSE IT IF HE LOSES BEFORE THE SEMI'S AND FEDERER MOVES ON TO THE FINAL.  THIS IS ROGER'S YEAR AND I THINK THE BEST IS YET TO COME. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.  HE LOST ONLY TO ZVEREV IN MONTREAL (BACK INJURY).  THIS IS THE BIG ONE THOUGH AND MAYBE HIS LAST U.S. OPEN, "NOT",  I WILL LET HIM TELL YOU WHEN HE'S FINISH PLAYING. ROGER IS THE TOM BRADY OF TENNIS.  MAYBE 40 IS THE NEW NUMBER FOR ATHLETES.  MAYWEATHER JUST PROVED THAT LAST NIGHT.  THESE GUYS TRAIN, EAT WELL, HAVE BALANCE IN THEIR LIFE, BUT THEY ARE STILL HUNGRY AND PASSIONATE ABOUT THEIR SPORT.  NADAL AND FEDERER MAY MEET IN THE SEMI'S WHICH WILL BE LIKE A FINAL. THIS WILL BE THE SHOW OF SHOWS. WITH ANDY, NOVAK, STAN, AND RAONIC GONE FEDERER HAS THE EDGE THIS YEAR OVER RAFA WINNING THE AUSTRALIAN, INDIAN WELLS, MIAMI, WITH NADAL LOSING AT WIMBLEDON AGAINST GILLES MULLER OF LUXEMBOURG. THE 36 YEAR OLD HAS PLAYED REMARKABLE, DISPLAYING A BLISTERING BACKHAND LIKE BACK IN THE DAY.  AGAIN WHEN THESE TWO MEET FIRE WORKS GO OFF AS ROGER GOES FOR NO.20!  H2H THEY HAVE PLAYED 37 TIMES WITH NADAL HAVING THE DEEP EDGE 23 TO 14!  COULD THIS BE THE TURN OF EVENTS RIGHT IN NEW YORK?  NADAL WILL TRY FOR HIS 16TH SLAM.  NOT SHABBY AT ALL. THESE TWO CLASSICS WILL HOPEFULLY REACH THE SEMI'S BECAUSE "THIS IS WHAT PEOPLE WANT AND THIS IS WHAT THEY PAY FOR"!

GARBINE MUGURUZA ON A ROLE PUSHES FOR NUMBER ONE AT THIS WEEK'S U.S. OPEN

THE CONFIDENCE SHE HAS NOW IS WHERE SHE WANTED TO BE AFTER SHE WON THE FRENCH OPEN TITLE IN 2016.  GARBINE HAS ARRIVED.  SHE SEALED THE DEAL AT WIMBLEDON.  JUST WON THE WESTERN & SOUTHERN IN CINCINNATI OVER NO.2 SIMONA HALEP NOT BLINKING AN EYE.  SHE IS MY GIRL TO WIN THIS YEARS U.S. OPEN AS SHE HAS COMPILED A 9-2 RECORD.  GARBINE IS STRONG, HITS BIG STROKES FROM BOTH WINGS, SHE STEPS IN ON THE RETURNS CRANKING UP THE RPM'S.  SHE IS DEADLY.  HER CONFIDENCE IS AT A HIGH NOTE.  ALSO MUGURUZA IS NO.1 ON THE PORSCHE RACE TO SINGAPORE 3RD IN WORLD RANKINGS WITH 2 SLAMS IN HER BAG VYING FOR NUMERO TRES! THE PRESSURE IS GONE, SERENA IS GONE EVEN THOUGH SHE TOOK HER DOWN AT THE FRENCH.  NO ONE SEEMS TO WANT IT MORE. KERBER LOOKS LOST, KVITOVA IS GETTING HER GROVE BACK, HALEP AND RADWANSKA ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH GREAT TALENT AND SMART BUT YOU NEED WEAPONS AND THEY DO NOT HAVE WHAT IT TAKES.  THE ONLY ONE WHO IS IN HER WAY IS KAROLINA PLISKOVA.  THE PRESSURE IS INTENSE AND EMOTIONS ARE HIGH. TO GET THEIR YOU MUST BE SELFISH AND FEARLESS.  YOUR GOAL IS TO TAKE NO PRISONERS. THE DOOR IS OPEN FOR GARBINE TO SHAKE THINGS UP AT THE OPEN AND FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR AND TO BECOME NUMBER ONE IN THE WORLD.

WILL INJURIES OF TOP PLAYERS ENHANCE CHANCES FOR "THE NEXT GEN AT THE U.S. OPEN THIS WEEK?

NOVAK DJOKOVIC, ANDY MURRAY, STAN WAWRINKA, MILOS RAONIC, AND KEI NISHIKORI ARE JUST FEW WITH INJURIES AT THIS WEEK'S LONG WAITED FOR U.S. OPEN.  NOVAK'S ELBOW, ANDY'S HIP, STAN'S KNEE, MILOS WRIST AND KEI'S WRIST INJURY IS THE MOST I'VE EVER SEEN.  MEANING THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN FOR THE LIKES OF TAYLOR FRITZ, ALEXANDER ZVEREV, KAREN KHACHANOV, JARED DONALDSON, FRANCES TIAFOE, HYEON CHUNG, BORNA CORIC AND CHRISTOPHER EUBANKS AND OTHERS ARE READY TO POUCE.  THEY ARE THE NEXT GENERATION TO REPLACE THE ROGER FEDERER'S, RAFAEL NADAL, ANDY MURRAY, NOVAK DJOKOVIC AND STAN WAWRINKA DOMINANT FACTORS OF THE ATP TOUR WINNING ALL BUT 2 OF THE GRAND SLAMS OVER THE LAST 17 YEARS.
