DJOOKOVIC RISES ABOVE FEDERER IN THE DESSERT CLASSIC

YES, A WEEK HAS GONE BY SINCE LAST WEEK'S FINAL.  WHEN FEDERER LOSES LIKE THIS IT REALLY GETS TO ME, AS HE IS "MY MAIN MAN".  HE WAS 17-0 WHEN WINNING THE FIRST SET.   HE'S [PLAYING LIKE THE DAYS OF OLD WITH HIS NEW RACQUET, PLAYING AGGRESSIVELY ATTACKING, NOT PLAYING SO DEFENSIVE WAITING FOR HIS OPPONENT TO MAKE A MISTAKE.  INSTEAD HE'S FLATTENING THE BALL OUT FOR MORE WINNERS. EVEN OUT HITTING NOVAK IN RALLIES FROM THE BASELINE. 61% OF FOREHANDS DOWN THE LINE AND 31% CROSS COURT.
NOVAK PLAYED VERY PATIENT WITH DEEP PLACEMENT ON HIS GROUND STROKES,
A DOUBLE BREAK AT 3-4 NOVAK GOES UP 5-3. THOUGH ROGER SERVICE WAS 54%
ON HIS 1ST SERVE IN THE 2ND SET DOWN FROM THE 1ST AS HIS % WAS 74%
COMPARED TO NOVAK'S 59% IN THE 1ST SET AND 72% IN THE 2ND! ROGER IMPRESSED US WITH HIS NADAL LIKE REVERSE FOREHAND WINNER AS A HECKLER MAKES HIS DAY VIEW AND HIT A RIDICULOUS WINNER SHUTTING THE MOUTH OF THE HECKLER. DJOKOVIC CLOSED OUT THE SET 6-3.

DJOKOVIC GOES UP 2-1 HAD THE LOOK IN HIS EYE AND GOT THE BREAK IN THE THIRD. FEDERER HOLDS AT LOVE TO TAKE IT TO 2-3, THEN NOVAK SERVES UP A LOVE GAME.  FEDERER PLAYED DEFENSIVE AND NEEDED TO ATTACK MORE WHICH HE DID WITH HIS 1/2 PUNCH CAME BACK TO 3-4, BUT IN THE NEXT GAME NOVAK
HIT A PASSING SHOT TO GO UP 5-3 AND YOU THINK THAT THIS IS IT!  NOT SO
FAST ROGER HAD A FEW MORE TRICKS UP HIS SLEEVE.ROGER SERVED A LOVE GAME TO BRING IT TO 4-5, THEN HE FIGHTS TO GO UP 30-0 AND HIT A BLAZING PASSING WINNER TO GO UP 40-0, AGAIN HOLD SERVE TO EVEN IT AT 5-5 "ROGER THAT", DJ SAYS "DJOKOVIC THAT" HOLDS FOR THE TIEBREAK!  WHEEW! GREAT STUFF. HERE ROGER HAD HIS CHANCES AND A GREAT SAVE TO GET TO A TIE-BREAK, AS FEDERER IS 8-7 IN TIEBREAKS BUT NOVAK PUT HE CHOKE HOLD ON
WENT UP 3-0, THEN 4-1, AND THEN TOYED ROGER WITH SLOW 2ND SERVES HIGH TO THE BACKHAND INTO THE BODY IN WINDY CONDITIONS. FEDERER SAVED 2 MATCH POINTS BUT SUCCUMBED IN THE 3RD SET TIE-BREAK 7-3.  ROGER WAS TRYING TO WIN HIS 5TH INDIAN WELLS ALSO TRYING TO BE THE OLDEST MAN SINCE ANDRE AGASSI TO WIN A MASTERS TITLE. INSTEAD DJOKOVIC CLAIMED HIS 17TH ELITE MASTERS TITLE OF HIS CAREER.  SO THESE TWO MOVE ON TO THE EAST COAST SONY OPEN IN MIAMI WHERE THEY MAY MEET UP AGAIN! THEIR
FEDERER IS 17-16.
