SERENA DOES HER THING AGAIN/SAFAROVA EDGES IVANOVIC

TIMEA BACSINSZKY 23RD SEED WAS ON HER WAY TO HER FIRST GRAND SLAM FINAL AND LIKE A SUPER HERO SERENA UNDER THE WEATHER, PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY DRAINED SHE HIT SPECTACULAR SHOTS TO HANG IN THE MATCH AS BACSINSZKY WAS STEALING THE SHOW WINNING THE FRIST SET 6-4.  LEAVING WILLIAMS SHAKING HER HEAD, SULKINGA AND SPRAYING SHOTS SOME WERE OUT OF REACH AS TIMEA PLAYED CONSISTENT SHOTS DEVASTATING SERENA HAVING NO CLUE OF WHAT TO DO. SECOND SET SERENA FOUND HER MOJO WITH THE SERVE SOME HUSTLE EVEN AN ON THE RUN CROSSCOURT WINNER EVEN SLIDING TO A SPLIT POSTION AS SHE TOOK THE AIR OUT OF TIMEA AND NEVER LOOKED BACK BAGELING BACSINZKY IN THE 3RD 6-0 FINAL SCORE 4-6,6-3,6-0.

SERENA IS A CLASSIC EPIC PLAYER. "CHAMPIONS NEVER DIE." SHE IS ON HER WAY TO HER 20TH GRAND SLAM VICTORY IF SHE CAN GET PAST LUCIE SAFAROVA
WHOM SHE HAS WON THE LAST 8 MATCHES AGAINST SAFAROVA.  WATCHING SERENA JUSTS LET'S YOU KNOW THAT THISIS AS REAL AS IT GETS!

LUCIE SAFAROVA WENT TOE TO TOE WITH FORMER FRENCH OPEN WINNER ANNA IVANOVIC IN 2008.  SHE TOOK A 3-0 LEAD THEN 4-1 AND EVEN 5=2 BUT NO KNOCK OUT PUNCH.  EVENTUALLY SHE WON 7-5 AND THE SECOND SET WAS NO DIFFERENT MATCH POINT DOUBLE FAULTING THEN SERVING FOR THE MATCH AT 5-4 HERE WE GO AGAIN THE 14TH SEED HELD OUT TO HOLD 7-5 7-5.  ANNA HAD MANY SHOTS ON HER RACQUET BUT COULD NOT PULL THE TRIGGER AS LUCIE'S AIM WAS ON MARK.  "I REALIZED THAT I WAS GOING TO THE FINALS AND GOT TENSE." GOT SOME RHYTHM, GOT IN THE GAME!  12TH YEAR ON TOUR  "TO REACH THIS FINALLY, YOU APPRECIATE IT MUCH MORE, I THINK." WITH 36 WINNERS 18 OF THEM FOREHAND LOOK FORWARD TO LUCIE USING THIS LETHAL WEAPON TO WIN AT THE TERRE BATUE COMING SATURDAY.
