LUCIC-BARONI SLOWS DOWN PLISKOVA'S ROLL, SERENA STOPS KONTAS , VANDEWEGHE IN THE ZONE, AGELESS VENUS LOOKS FRESH

THIS IS REAL AS IT CAN GET FOR MIJANA, THE 34 YEAR OLD GERMAN BORN, NOW A RESIDENT OF FLORIDA, IS ON THE ROLL OF HER LIFE HAD ANOTHER WIN OVER A TOP 5 CATEGORY BY DEFEATING NO. 5 SEED KAROLINA PLISKOVA, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 MOVING MIRJANA INTO HER FIRST SLAM SEMIFINAL IN 18 YEARS.  WHERE HAS SHE BEEN?  WELL SHE'S HAPPILY MARRIED AND WORKING HARD.
THE OPTIMISTIC MIRJANA IS NOT FINISHED YET AS SHE WILL MEET THE INVINCIBLE , SERENA WILLIAMS WHO IS READY TO PONCE.  WITH MIRJANA PERSEVERENCE AND VIGOR WE HAVE A REAL SEMI-FINALS ON OUR HAND. READY, SET, SEE YA TONIGHT!

FOR SERENA SHE'S LOOKING FOR "23" THE MISSING GRAND SLAM.  THAT'S ALL! SHE HAS EVERYTHING ELSE EVEN A NEW LOVE!  BUT SHE'S BEEN DENIED 3 TIMES.  I DON'T THINK THIS WILL HAPPEN TONIGHT.  THOSE NOTES SHE READ LAST NIGHT REMINDED ME OF THE FINAL WITH ARTHUR ASHE AND JIMMY CONNERS WHERE ASHE STUCK TO THE PLAN TO KEEP THE BALLS SLOW TO JIMMY'S BACKHAND AND ATTACK WHICH WE KNOW THIS HE DID AND WON WIMBLEDON IN 1975.  FOR SERENA IT SPARKED HER GAME AS HER TIMING WAS ON POINT HER MOVEMENT WAS EAGER AND ATHLETIC AND SHE CRUSHED BALLS FROM WELL INSIDE THE BASELINE, TAKING CHARGE OF THE GAME STOPPING JOHANNA KONTAS STREAK OF 18 MATCH WINS, WINNING 6-2, 6-3.  THIS TIME SHE WILL NOT BE DENIED.

COCO IS PLAYING LIGHTS OUT TENNIS SMACKING THE BACK EFFORTLESSLY.  SHE IS WITHOUT A DOUBT IN THE ZONE.  THEIR IS NO SECOND GUESSING WHEN COCO HITS THE BALL!  IT'S A DONE DEAL, POINT IS OVER.  SHE HAS THE 1,2 PUNCH. BIG SERVE, SHORTBALL WINNER AND GAME.  THESE WINS MOVED HER RANKING UP TO 20 IN THE WORLD. THE FORTH HIGHEST AMERICAN BEHIND SERENA, VENUS AND MADISON KEYS TOOK DOWN KERBER AND MUGURUZA LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS.  SLAMMING 35 ACES IN HER AUSTRALIAN RUN. HER SERVE IS  GOOD TO HAVE IN CLUTCH MOMENTS.   VENUS HAS THE CLUTCH SERVES AS WELL. HAS NOT BEEN IN THE SEMI'S AT THE AO IN 14 YEARS.   HOW MUCH WILL NERVES PLAY FOR THESE TWO AMERICANS?

VENUS WANTS TO GO FURTHER AND NOTHING CAN STOP HER WHEN SHE PUTS MIND TO IT.  THIS SHOWED AS SHE DISMANTLED PAVLYUCHENKOVA.  SHE LOOKED LIKE SHE REALLY IS ENJOYING HERSELF. LIKE A KID IN A CANDY STORE.
WITH 3 AMERICANS IN THE SEMI'S WHO WANTS IT BAD ENOUGH.  ALSO THREE OF FOUR ARE OVER 30 YEARS OLD!  WILL THIS MAKE A DIFFERENCE?  THIS IS VENUS FIRST APPEARANCE IN 14 YEARS AND IS NOT READY TO CALL IT QUITS YET!  AT 36 YEARS OLD SHE IS  THE OLDEST TO REACH A GRAND SLAM SEMI-FINAL SINCE MARTINA NAVRATILOVA IN 1994 WIMBLEDON.  SHE BEAT DOWN WITH 35 WINNERS AND KILLING IT AT THE NET WITH 81% OF THE 16 POINTS AT THE NET.  SHE SENT THE 24TH SEED TO THE SHOWERS 6-4, 7-6(3).
