FEDERER TAKES DOWN "THE MAN OF STEELE" GRABS 18TH SLAM IN 5 SET STUNNER!

THESE PLAYERS ARE NO STRANGERS TO ONE ANOTHER.  WHEN THEY STEPPED ON THE COURT NEITHER KNEW THE OUTCOME.  THEY COULD ONLY PLAY TO FIND OUT AND THIS THEY DID.  THIS WAS A SIZZELING EVENT.  I ALWAYS THOUGHT FOR ROGER TO WIN ANOTHER SLAM HE WOULD HAVE TO USE A TWO HANDED BACKHAND.  BECAUSE THE SLAMS HE LOSS HE CHIPPED AND SLICED TO MUCH.  TONIGHT I TAKE THAT BACK HE CAME OVER THE BALL WITH TOP SPIN AND FLATTENED THE BALL OUT AT THE RIGHT TIMES. HE PLAYED WITH CONFIDENCE GOING TOE TO WITH THAT AMAZING 26 RALLY BALL WHERE FEDERER UNLEASHED A DOWN THE LINE WINNER  IN THE 5TH SET WHERE HE RAN OFF 5 GAMES COMING FROM A 3-1 DEFICIT TO TAKE DOWN RAFAEL NADAL "EL TORO"
6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 IN A THRILLER FOR HIS 18TH GRAND SLAM CHAMPIONSHIP.  ROGER IS THE OLDEST PLAYER SINCE 1972 TO WIN A SLAM SINCE KEN ROSWELL.

TO PLAY RAFA IS LIKE PLAYING 10 PEOPLE OUT THEIR.  HE RUNS DOWN EVERYTHING  SCRAPING HIS RACQUET TO GET TO EVERY BALL, EVEN HITTING AN AMAZING SQUASH SHOT STRETCHING IT FOR A WINNER WHICH SEEMED TO BE A WINNER FOR ROGER.  BOTH WITH BACK TO BACK 5 SET MATCHES AGAINST WAWRINKA AND DIMITROV MADE THIS TOURNAMENT A DRAMATIC, ATHLETIC AND SIMPLY AN EPIC EVENT.  LOTS OF DRAMA WITH NOVAK WHO GOT TAKEN DOWN BY DENIS ISTOMIN. ANDY SENT PACKING BY THE SERVE AND VOLLEYER MISCHA ZVEREV MADE YOU WANT TO WAKE UP 3:30 AM EST TO SEE SOME GREAT TENNIS.  IT WAS WELL WORTH IT. JUST THINK BOTH SUFFERING WITH INJURIES RAFA WRIST AND ROGER SURGERY ON THE KNEE WERE OUT FOR SIX MONTHS.  YES, THE IMPOSSIBLE DID HAPPEN THESE GUYS DUKED IT OUT IN 3:38 MINUTES.  NEITHER WANTED TO GIVE AN INCH AS ROGER CRANKED OUT 20 ACES AND 79 WINNERS, BOTH PLAYERS HITTING CLUTCH SHOTS THROUGHOUT THIS SLUG FEST.

WATCHING THESE MATCHES YOU LEARN SO MUCH ABOUT TECHNIQUE, ANGLES, STRATEGY.  MOSTLY THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF EACH OTHERS SKILLS AND ENDURANCE AT THIS LEVEL IS TOP QUALITY STUFF.  ROGER HAD TO BE AGGRESSIVE TO WIN RAISING THE BAR EVERYTIME THESE PLAYERS STRUCK THE BALL.  WE SIT BACK IN AMAZEMENT WISHING WE COULD BE OUTTEIR HAMMERING THE BALL.  NADAL PLAYED 5 MORE HOURS BUT IT DID NOT SHOW.  STILL NADAL H2H LEADS THE SWISSMAN 6-3 IN MAJORS AND OVERALL 23-12,
BUT FEDERER LEADS IN SLAMS OVER RAFA 18-14 HOLDS NUMBER ONE IN THE WORLD FOR 302 WEEKS TO NADALS 141.  THIS IS NOT OVER YET FANS.  THESE PLAYERS HAVE THE PASSION FOR TENNIS SO EXPECT MORE TO COME AT INDIAN WELLS IN MARCH AND THE FRENCH OPEN IN MAY WHERE  RAFA IS THE KING OF CLAY.  BUT MOST OF ALL ROGER THE GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME ENDURES TO WIN HIS 18TH GRAND SLAM.  THX FOR THE MEMORIES GUYS!
